making live music accessible for all
on trust Events
On Trust Events is a new initiative setup by singer/songwriter Steve Pledger with a view to removing, what is for some, a major obstacle in attending live music events...
...fixed ticket prices.
Find out more about OT here. You can also head to the Events page for a list of Steve's upcoming OT shows here. This is a brand-new venture and this website will be developing over the coming weeks with more gigs being added soon.
If you are an organisation or venue interested in booking Steve under the OT banner, please go to About OT and/or get in touch for further details.

It's now a little over three weeks since the first On Trust Events gig and I really should have written about it on here before now! Oh well, better late than never... Suffice it to say, it all went better than I could hoped and I'm so grateful to all the lovely people who helped to make it the special evening that it was. (Joan, Billy, Mary, Mary, Adam, Becky et al... huge thanks!) You can read an excellent review of the evening courtesy of Adam Jenkins of FATEA Magazine who made the journey up from Berkshire to be there and special thanks go to him for coming; for the review and for a great deal more besides. Please take a look at what he had to say about it all here. I'm excited to announce that the second OT gig is now in place and set for 12th July in Durham at the inspirational Open Art Surgery at the Gilesgate HQ of RTprojects. RTP is an incredible mental health charity set up to help those struggling with anxiety, depression and other mental health issues through art. Please do take a look at the work they do here. So, 12th July, 'Open Art Surgery', (RTP), Durham, 7:30pm (7pm doors) is where I'll be playing the next OT gig and I'd love it if you could join me there. It's being run on exactly the same basis as all OT gig will operate and you can read more about that on the About OT page. n short, there's no fixed ticket price and it will operate on a 'pay as you feel' basis. If your finances are limited, you just put in what you can, and if you can afford to pay nothing at all but would like to be there, then you're just as welcome. All that's asked is that you please register your interest in attending here (only takes a few seconds) and let us know if you can't make it. It's that simple. This helps us know what numbers we may expect and is why we're unable to guarantee entry on the night without registering first. Last month's event was virtually full - which was fantastic - so you can imagine why we need to have an idea of how may are likely to be there. Recently, NEVolume - a superb music publication here in the North East of England - ran a great feature on OT with details about the initiative and an in-depth interview with myself; you can read the online version of that piece on their website here. Thanks for taking a look at this and for your interest in On Trust Events. If you'd like to know more about hosting an OT gig, please drop me a line via the Contact page or by emailing me at [email protected]. You can also find out more about how it all works on the About OT page. All the best for now.... As I type this, we're just an hour and a half away from launching OT and to beginning the exciting process of getting the word out there. I'm just checking a few bits and pieces on here before hitting the 'publish' button and then we do the same with the Facebook page and Twitter account.
This is a brand-new venture and one that will doubtless continue to take shape over the coming weeks and months, so expect the odd tweak along the way. What will not be changing is the underlying premise: making a live music event accessible to any who wish to be there, and making sure that the gigs and promotion are built around that central message. Thank you so much for the interest you've already expressed by just reading this far! You can find out more about OT on the About OT page, oddly enough. As stated there, in most regards, the events that will be happening under the OT banner will be regular Steve Pledger gigs; it's just about doing things a slightly different way that will hopefully enable some who may wish to get along to such an evening to be able to do so rather than be excluded by a fixed-price ticket. Anyway... better crack on... still much to do. I hope you'll want to find out more about this initiative and that you'll be able to make it along to one of these evenings soon. The gig list will be growing over the weeks ahead and more will be arranged and announced. Please do follow OT on Facebook and Twitter and look out for more news coming soon. SPx |
